1. Joining CESA – A Proud Early Milestone
Shortly after our establishment in 2016, Maninga became a member of Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA). For a young and emerging firm, joining such a respected professional body so early was a significant achievement. It demonstrated the company’s commitment to professional standards, ethical practice, and excellence within the engineering and built environment sector. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, this milestone reminds us of our determination from the very beginning to position the company among industry leaders.
2. SAB Foundation – The Beginning of Our Growth Journey
One of the earliest and most impactful opportunities in our journey was being part of the SAB Foundation Tholoana Business Development Programme. This initiative marked the beginning of a new chapter for the company. Through the programme, we gained access to valuable skills training, peer networks, brand development support, and the guidance of an experienced business mentor. These resources played a critical role in strengthening the foundation of the company, enabling growth, improving our capabilities, and allowing us to expand our team by creating new employment opportunities.
3. Achieving ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit Certification – Commitment to Excellence
Achieving ISO certification was a remarkable milestone for the company. For many businesses, this level of international standardisation is only achieved once they are well established. However, our company reached this milestone while still relatively small, reflecting our dedication to quality, efficiency, and professional best practices from an early stage. This certification signified that our systems, processes, and services meet internationally recognised standards, positioning us as a trusted and credible organisation in the industry.
4. Growth and Transformation
As the company grew, so did our commitment to transformation and inclusivity. What began as a small team evolved into a diverse organisation that proudly represents people of different races, genders, and backgrounds. 5. Giving Back – Our First Christmas Outreach Programme

Our first Christmas outreach programme marked the beginning of our commitment to community support and social responsibility. What started as a small initiative became a heartfelt effort to bring joy, hope, and support to those in need during the festive season. Being able to extend a helping hand reminded us that the success of our company is not only measured by growth but also by the positive impact we make in the lives of others.

When the company first started, the team consisted of only three people who shared a vision and determination to build something meaningful. The event was dedicated to recognising the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in our industry and communities. 8. Being Featured in the RACA Magazine – Industry Recognition
Being featured in the RACA Magazine was a proud and defining milestone for the company. This recognition highlighted the journey, hard work, and dedication that had gone into building the business from the ground up. For a growing company, being acknowledged in a respected industry publication signified that our efforts and impact were being recognised beyond our immediate networks. It was not only a moment of celebration but also motivation to continue striving for excellence in everything we do.
9. Industry Excellence – CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards (CLM Building, Wits University)
A defining milestone in our journey was receiving an award at the CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards for the CLM Building project at Wits University in the category of Engineering Technology and Innovation. This recognition celebrated the innovative thinking, technical expertise, and dedication our team brought to the project. Winning this award was a proud moment for the company, as it affirmed our ability to deliver forward-thinking engineering solutions that contribute to advancing infrastructure and innovation in South Africa.
10. CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards 2025 – Baragwanath Hospital Project
Another significant achievement came in 2025 when the company received a major award at the CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards in the Projects Under R50 Million category for the Baragwanath Hospital project. This milestone was particularly meaningful because the project directly contributes to improving healthcare infrastructure that serves thousands of people every day. Being recognised for work connected to one of the country’s most important public hospitals reflects the deeper purpose behind what we do — engineering solutions that not only solve technical challenges but also support communities and improve lives. This award stands as a reminder that our work has a human impact, helping to create spaces that support healing, care, and hope for the people who rely on these vital facilities.
