CLM Building Development
At the CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards 2022, the winning project in the category: Engineering Technology and Innovation, HVAC Building Systems Design Excellence, was the Commerce, Law and Management (CLM) Building Development, for client: University of the Witwatersrand, Campus Planning and Development. Maninga Engineering were the mechanical engineers on this award-winning project.
Project Background
The University requested a high energy efficient building which incorporated latest technology to heat and cool offices. The professional team was asked to explore two system in the building: radiant heating and cooling system (Thermally Active Building System) and active chilled beam to control the internal environment of the new building. Both systems significantly reduce operating cost saving, for the University.
